For George, art is clearly more than a hobby; it’s a vibrant window into his curious and imaginative mind. He possesses a wonderful blend of athleticism, scientific curiosity, and a thirst for knowledge about the world around him.

What made you want to start doing art?

“I love expressing my imagination through my drawings and adding colors to them. As a little artist, I was fascinated by how different colors could blend to create new ones. It’s so much fun to have the freedom to create as many colors as I want.”

The freedom to craft your own unique color palettes is truly a gift, and it’s clear you’re using it beautifully. It’s inspiring to hear about your creative process and the joy it brings you. Keep expressing yourself!

What do you like most about making art?

“The animation videos I watched when I was 3 or 4 years old inspired me to draw similar shapes and characters. I began my drawing journey by sketching a spider from “Spider-Man.

Do you like to draw or paint things from your imagination or things you see around you?

“I love to draw my imagination; sometimes it may not make sense but I love drawing them. Also do spend time by making crafts and giving colors to them.”

Art is about expressing yourself, and if it brings you joy, that’s all that matters.

If your drawings could come to life, which one would you want to hang out with for a day?

“I would like to spend time with the Kingfisher bird painting we drew in Nimmy’s art class. I love its color combination and wanted to see that bird be my pet.”

Is there a place where you love to do your art, like a favorite spot at home?

“Most of my paintings I draw from the corner of my room. The wall is decorated with all my drawings and I always like to spend time there.”

George sits at an art desk in his colorful art room surrounded by brushes, paints, and his vibrant artwork displayed on the walls.

That sounds like an inspiring and cozy space for a young artist! Having your own creative corner surrounded by your artwork is such a great way to stay motivated and keep growing your passion. It’s clear that spot is special to you, and it’s amazing how it fuels your creativity!

What was the most fun project you did at summer camp this year?

“The perspective drawing we did in our class was my favorite; it amazes me how well we can draw things around us by knowing perspective drawing.”

What advice would you give to other little artists who want to be artists?

“An important lesson I learned from Nimmy’s art is that there are no mistakes in art—it’s simply the artist’s unique way of making their work special. Don’t worry if your painting doesn’t turn out as planned; art offers countless techniques to turn any mishap into something even more beautiful.”

It’s so true that the beauty of art lies in its freedom of expression; there’s no single “right” way to create. Hence, the “mistake” becomes an opportunity for creative problem-solving. It forces you to think outside the box and find innovative ways to integrate the unexpected into your work, often resulting in something more expressive and personal than the original plan. This is what makes art so exciting and liberating.

Cheerful shout outs from happy parents!

“George loves his drawings and began attending Nimmy’s art classes when he was 4. Now, he has a large collection of his artwork and has even helped us decorate his room with it. As parents, we’ve seen his excitement when he created new colors during his early art classes, and he feels incredibly proud each time he finishes a piece. Using the techniques he’s learned, he now breaks down his drawings into basic shapes and transforms them into what he envisions.”
