Halloween is one of the most awaited celebrations of the year. Children love dressing up in their costumes and engage in wide-ranging activities and of course, Trick or Treat!!
This year was an unprecedented one with everyone confined to their homes and going out for trick or treat was not feasible. At Nimmy’s Art school, we believe that children should not miss this festive time and also have a safe ‘artsy-treatsy’ Halloween.
Halloween ‘Art’ or ‘Art Halloween’
Online courses have the same level of engagement and excitement that you have come to expect from in-person classes. For October, we created art projects with the Halloween Theme in our online art classes. The energy and interest that our students showed during these classes were remarkable. Children were brimming with ideas for Halloween. They were having so much fun creating the Halloween projects in our classes, that we decided to give them an opportunity to unleash their imagination.
We see every year how children love to dress up for Halloween. So for this year, we introduced the free online Halloween Art Contest for kids, where children could draw, color or paint their Halloween costume or anything related to Halloween. To give them a start and help them create some elements, we created a Halloween tutorial with real-life Halloween elements that was very well received by our students.
Also, with this project, children now had an opportunity to try out lessons that are taught in our art courses including 3d modeling, figure drawing, etc.
Halloween Art Contest
For the Halloween Art Contest, we received entries from children between the ages of 4 and 12 years. It was really a treat to see children from around the world take interest and paint the Halloween of their imagination. Children were free to use any art medium they like and we were surprised to see even oil painting entries. We wanted their imagination to run wild and gave them an outlet through art, to celebrate Halloween.
Artists at Work
As we started receiving the entries for Halloween, there were no boundaries to what children could think. Some created their own and some got inspired. Some had more than one entry each better than the previous one developing like an art history course.
We had entries coming in different forms and used a wide variety of mediums. There were pop-up cards, Prisma colorwork, pencil sketches, paintings, and many Halloween crafts. We even had some adults joining in on the festivities with their own Halloween creations to celebrate with children at Nimmy’s Art. Nimmy’s art has always sought to go beyond art lessons and online classes.
It amazed us that all these are works of children who are still taking baby steps and building a strong foundation in visual arts. And what made us the happiest were the smiles on their faces while posing with their pictures with their Halloween costumes.
Their world of imagination never ceased to surprise us. We could not go out tricking or treating, but this contest definitely turned out to be a treat for all of us at Nimmy’s Art.
Since the launching of Nimmy’s art, our coaching process has revolutionized the virtual art class space and virtual art programs. We invite you to check out the collection of paintings by our students, and you will appreciate their creative thoughts and their artistic world.
In the ever-changing world, a virtual art class is the best option to introduce your children to the creative realm.
