When did you first get interested in art, and what inspired you to start creating art
“I got interested in art when I was three years old. Every Wednesday I would take Nimmy’s art lessons and that’s how I found out “Art is so fun, I love it” My mom and my aunt are also excellent artists. My auntie is an art teacher and my mom is a hobby artist. What inspired me was my art teacher. She taught me most of the skills that I need to know.”

That early exposure to art classes set the stage for your artistic journey. Having artistic role models in your family and a great teacher plays a significant role in your development and personal growth.
Are there any other hobbies or activities that you enjoy in your free time?
“I love talking with my stuffed animals and playing games with them, especially when my parents are busy. It is fun to play with stuffed animals because they are fluffy and they will listen to you. And it is fun to hug them and have them with you everywhere around the house.”

Connecting with stuffed animals sparks creativity and imagination while providing a sense of security, especially when children seek companionship. This nurturing interaction helps children develop emotional intelligence and expand their creative imagination.
You won in our contest! What do you enjoy most about participating in Nimmy’s Art contests?
“I love participating in Nimmy Arts contests because it is fun to draw and learn new things about art. I love drawing the things Nimmy asks me to do and it is so fun to draw anything. And when you completed the paintings you are like ”Wow, I can’t believe I did this.”And then join the contest.”
It’s fantastic that you’re having fun, learning, and building confidence through art.
How was your experience with Nimmy’s Art Academy videos?
“I think Nimmy’s Art videos are very helpful because they show you how to draw things step by step and how it should look at the end. You can compare them to yours to see if it looks good. When I see things I draw differently from Nimmy then I will rewatch that step until I think it looks good.”
Being able to see the process step by step until the final result is a great way to identify areas for improvement and practice until you’re happy with it. It’s amazing how dedicated you are to improving your technique!
What did you learn from Nimmy’s Master Study Classes and who’s your favorite artist?
“I learned how to draw a “Sprig a plum” in a master study, Charcoal drawing. It is fun to draw where it’s light and where it’s dark. And how big it is and how the leaves look, etc. My favorite artist is M. C. Escher, because the birds look the same no matter if it is front or backwards. I think it is the coolest drawing on earth.”
Your charcoal plum sprig is impressive. You’re already mastering light and shadow, and your choice of favorite artist is M. C. Escher shows your appreciation for detail and artistic innovation. You’ve got a great eye for art. Keep exploring!
Imagine you’re a famous artist teaching your own masterclass. What subject/object or theme would you choose, and why?
“I would choose cute and funny things to teach little kids, I love cute ones so it is all matched up. When I see a cute one, I will draw it right away. When kids see funny things they would laugh out loud and enjoy art.”

Kids respond well to humor and cuteness, so your approach is a good strategy to make art class a joyful experience for them. It’s awesome that you’re thoughtful about making art accessible and enjoyable for others.
What’s your favorite art medium in our class and why?
“I love Charcoal Pencils and Watercolors. When I am doing Charcoal drawings, I feel like the world is black and white, and I am surrounded by paintings. That’s why I like Charcoal painting. When I am doing watercolor paintings, I feel like the painting is very rich and colors are around me whenever I need it.”
It’s amazing how you connect with each medium on such a deep emotional level.
How do you feel when you share your finished artwork with friends and family? What kind of reactions do you usually get?
“I feel proud that I have just finished another painting and I’m sure it looks good. Normally me and my mom do it together and we show it to our dad and he chooses the one he thinks is better. Their reactions are normally like “Nice painting, it looks wonderful.”
The shared experience of making art and sharing it with your dad and hearing his positive feedback makes it even more special. You have a supportive and loving family that boosts your confidence in art even more. Keep motivated in creating those beautiful paintings.
What’s your piece of advice for young artists just beginning their art journey?
“Try your best and never give up even if it looks bad. When it looks bad you just need to make sure that you are learning a lot and learning is good. And be positive all the time, and say good things to yourself even if it looks bad. Keep trying and you will always be moving forward.”

Your positive attitude and encouragement to keep trying, even when your art doesn’t look perfect, are inspiring. That’s a fantastic mindset to have—you’ll go far! I love your self-compassion and dedication to growing in art every day.
Cheerful shout outs from happy parents!
“We have been very happy with Bella attending Nimmy’s Classes since 2 years ago. There’s very significant progress you can find with her creativity and skills in her paintings. Sometimes she actually did better than her mother if they worked on the same topic. This has become one of the best extra curriculums she’s looking forward to doing every month.”

“Bella, you’ve made amazing progress in our Nimmy’s Art Online Classes over the past two years, you have so much potential, and your art will continue getting better as you learn new things. We hope you always enjoy your art and find success.” – Nimmy Melvin
